PlayStation Country is over! 11

Howdy, folks.  We have decided to close up for good.  It’s been a nice run though, hasn’t it?  PlayStation Country started in 2014 and we’ve reviewed over 2000 games in the last twelve years.   But, honestly, the fun is draining out of it a bit these days and we want to go back to playing games for enjoyment before we quit the hobby forever.  So, that’s what we’re going to do.

But thank you, sincerely.  For everyone who read our reviews, interacted on social media and listened to the podcast (this one’s for my pa!), we’re forever grateful that you checked us out.  To Marc at Metacritic, thanks for believing in us.  And to all the lovely PRs who trusted us to review their games, you’re the best.

Thanks to Gareth, Grizz and Steve for all the reviews.

Thanks to Ian and Mike for going to the distance.  We really shook the pillars of heaven didn’t we, Wang?

About Richie

Rich is the editor of PlayStation Country. He likes his games lemony and low-budget with a lot of charm. This isn't his photo. That'll be Rik Mayall.

Still can’t quite get my head around it being over tbh.

I’m like that gif of the Spanish bloke stood in an empty swimming pool looking bereft.

Sorry to read this Richie! Thank you for taking the time to check out so many of our games over the last few years! As a former games journalist myself, I know how draining reviewing games can be. I hope that you’ll rediscover your love of playing games for fun!

  • Thanks

    Hey guys,

I bought myself PS5 this November and used your reviews to check on what I missed all these years.
You helped me pick up a lot gems and to stay away from trash too. Hard to find a good site that stays away from the modern noise and focuses on what is it all about – fun.
Thank you and wishing you all the best, whenever you go.

    One love.

You guys were great. I’m really gonna particularly miss those shump and indie reviews. All the best for your futures.

Here’s to the Army and Navy and the battles they have won.
